Welcome
We wish to welcome you to the new Affirmations Eternal. We are a forum that features a line of Immortal Vampires not heard from anywhere else as yet, along with conversations on a wide range of topics.

For those who may have visited AE before the transformation and are surprised to see a different set of vampires calling it home, we will only say that the Ricean vampires we once featured here were very pleased to be able to leave AE in the hands of another breed of Immortal Vampires who have their own stories to share with you all. We therefore ask that once you enter you do not post requests or questions regarding the others on forum or in our chat. If you do have questions on this topic, you may Private Message our assistant French Maid and she will attempt to address them for you.

For older members returning who did not have to re-register, we also ask that you check your profile and update your birthday. New members will have done so upon registering, but we did not have that feature on the old forum. If your old avatar is missing, and you had it uploaded to our server on the earlier forum you can choose to use a personalized picture or scroll through those still here until you find the one that belongs to you and select it. We ask that anyone who still features signatures or titles from the Ricean vampires with their names as a part of them delete them before posting, or this will eventually be done for you.

Should you have any questions or problems with the forum please feel free to ask. Technical questions should be PMd to Samyaza, or placed on the forum in the area provided for this, not in her Immortal Home thread on forum. All questions of a non-technical nature regarding forum issues that you cannot find answers to within may be sent to Cathair or FrenchMaid.

Our History
There are many chroniclers of ancient civilizations, and sometimes they conflict with one another in ways that can cause serious discord. In the Old Times, recording the history of men was exceptionally time-consuming and few were literate. Most people had to rely on storytellers to spread the histories of their people. We all know how the tellers of stories like to embellish on them at times, but who does not love a tale that is told with passion?

The tale we propose to tell has its roots in a number of ancient manuscripts. These do sometimes conflict and cause dissension among men, yet often they also have amazing similarities that affirm for their followers that in some ways all of us are forever linked eternally, whatever form of creature we may be.

Our own tale was inspired in part by the Kebra Negast (The Glory of Kings) which is one of the older recorded manuscripts still in existence. It is the Ethiopian version of a tale also recorded in the Torah, the Bible, and the Quoran. If you have heard of The Queen of Sheba, or her affair with the legendary King Solomon, then you know of which tale I speak.

We are here to tell you a story that begins during the time of Sheba and Solomon and reveals a new unique dynasty of Immortal Blood Drinkers. Over time they very selectively multiplied; spreading out across the world. Some have continued to flourish in modern times. We hope you will be tempted to join us within to share their adventures, and discourse on what you, and they, share in common as well. This is a feast of friends, both vampires and mortals, where we relish the chance to share experiences ranging from the serious, the silly and the sublime.

Guidelines
1. The age requirement to participate in these forums is 17 years of age. Anyone found lying about their age to gain access to our forum will be banned.

2. You may not take on the name of any of our own characters, or those from books, plays, movies or TV shows in an attempt to portray these characters yourselves.

3. The only Supernatural Beings acknowledged here are those who are staff members of Affirmations Eternal. What you are outside of our home is your prerogative, but here you are mortal and nothing else, unless we grant you temporary "powers" during some special event.

4. We ask that you not challenge the Vampires and ask them to prove their "reality" to you on or off forum. If you wish to be a part of our community we ask that you accept the premise this forum is based on so as to keep to our theme for the pleasure of all of our guests.

5. Refrain from asking a vampire to change or turn you. We also ask that you do not ask them to harm others on your behalf. This will not happen.

6. Proper decorum is expected when interacting with not only the Vampires, but each other as well. Please refrain from excessive displays of affection, unless permission to do such has been granted. Certain vampires may not mind light teasing, but rudeness and total disrespect will not be tolerated by the most friendly of them.

7. We are here to interact with you, not to find a romantic companion; such things are strictly forbidden here. Do not invite AE immortals to engage in RP with you off site. If you should find someone on IM claiming to be from AE who is not an administrator, it is very likely that they are not telling you the truth. The administrators are on very rarely to conduct forum business, not to RP with you. The moderators of AE are asked not to become involved with members off site. Administration is not responsible for their actions elsewhere.

8. Please keep profanity to a minimum. If you must use it, please be careful that it is very limited, and not too graphic in nature. If it is out of control, Administration will either delete or edit your post.

9. Discussion and debates on topics are encouraged. That said, respect is demanded. Please remember that all members have a right to their own opinions and do not indulge in personal insults. Posts may be deleted, or locked if we feel that the debate has generated into personal slurs. Nothing that is ethnically, sexually, or religiously denigrating will be tolerated. Those who break such rules will be warned via PM, but if they continue to provoke eventually it could result in banishment.

10. Any threats regarding yourself, staff, or other members, made on forum or in PMs, may result in automatic banning from the forum. In addition, your personal information (including IP) could be turned over to the proper authorities.

11. Regarding the threads known as Immortal Homes we ask that you not use them as a place to air personal grievances with members or moderators. Members are expected to arrive at the "home" of the immortal as the person they have signed in as and begin a conversation with them as their guest. There are variations as to how we each choose to interact with members in our immortal homes. Some prefer to keep it to conversation only, some may vampires may agree to engage in various scenarios with you while visiting them that are far more action oriented. Please do not post more than one thread at a time in the homes of any immortal unless you have gained special permission to do so, unless they have created a special "fantasy" thread therein and encouraged members to join in. We ask that you refrain from posts that are more than five paragraphs long, as it does make it take that much longer for others to hear back from us.

12. Do not post links on the forum or in the chat room to other places that feature vampire characters involving RP. This includes the use of our Email or Private message services as well.

13. If you should have an issue with one of our Vampires or another member please either settle it off forum, or simply PM the Vampire in question to discuss it privately. We wish to help you to feel comfortable here, and will be happy to listen to any grievances you may have and do our very best to resolve them. If an issue comes up feel free to contact an administrator to help you resolve this issue.

14. AE cannot be responsible for what goes on off of the forum itself, but we would like to remind you all to be careful when it come to revealing too many details about yourself personally on this, or any Internet site, until such a time comes when you feel you have truly gotten to know someone well enough to trust them. Many members have made close friends here over the years, but to continue to ensure that such experiences are good ones, we ask that you remember to do all that you can to respect each others privacy, & use common sense before you begin to reveal personal details about yourself to anyone on the Internet.

15. Enjoy yourselves! This is a place for serious topics, as well as the sublimely silly. We suggest if you do not enjoy a particular topic, you merely find another to post in. We have many different types of members and we hope that all will be able to find something that is of interest to them, while respecting the rights of others to do the same.

These rules are subject to change
